A professional nature & wildlife Photographer, filmmaker and storyteller based in Nairobi, Kenya and available to travel allover the World.
My name is Evans Ogeto, and I am a wildlife and nature photographer, filmmaker, and storyteller based in Nairobi, Kenya. With a passion for documenting the interesting relationships between people, wildlife, and places, I have spent the last decade crafting stories that connect audiences to Africa’s rich landscapes and cultures.
After leaving a successful career in finance in 2015, I fully embraced my calling as a visual storyteller. In 2018, I was honored to receive the prestigious Photographer of Kenya award for my work, ‘Team Mafisi,’ shot in the Maasai Mara. This accolade marked a pivotal moment in my career, inspiring me to continue exploring untold stories of Africa in my own unique way through a combination of pictures, writing, and film.
As the founder of United Pictures Ltd., I have led numerous storytelling projects for prominent organizations, including WWF Kenya, Kenya Tourism Board, Mpala Research Centre, Princeton University, and NABU. My work has also been featured in notable publications like Nomad Magazine and Kenya Airways-Msafiri Magazine, highlighting my commitment to sharing authentic African stories of people, places, and passion.
In addition to my professional work, I have led the photographer’s community in Kenya as Chairman of the Photographer’s Association of Kenya (PAK), with a membership of thousands. I am also dedicated to nurturing the next generation of visual storytellers through my mentorship program for young and upcoming nature and wildlife photographers.
Driven by my passion for conservation and community empowerment, I focus on showcasing the coexistence of wildlife and local communities, which I believe is key to sustainable conservation. In 2022, my work highlighting Mt. Kenya was used by the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife to raise funds to help conserve the mountain. My ongoing project on Lake Ol Bolossat, for example, aims to document both the ecological challenges the lake faces and the community efforts to protect it.
Through photography, I hope to challenge perceptions and offer fresh perspectives on Africa, its people, and its future. Every image I capture reflects my dedication to telling compelling stories that inspire positive change.
