Football made in Kawangware

On Nov 2021 I stepped out to shoot some football in Kawangware. For some of us the mention of Kawangware ignite great memories since there’s has been great footballing talent that continues to emerge form here. Most notables the ex Kenya international Denis Oliech.

My love for capturing raw grassroots football inspired me to borrow the Canon R5 and Canon 100-500. since Canon launched this new mirrorless camera I had never gotten a chance to explore it on a personal level(I’m not about to give a review).

My good friend Jamby Koikai was the one behind the tournament, she came up with a football competition as a way of her giving back to her community since this is her home. I was there to offer support and create some lasting memories as this was the last game, the final between Gogo boys from Kibera vs FIFA Best from Kawangware.

Join me in seeing how I did this.

As this final was ongoing so were the people who were coming in for the big game, the final.

Other were strictly into business
